3rd Annual Arab Women in Computing Conference

Arab Women in Computing has been an Anita Borg Syster Community for two years now and they held their 3rd annual Arab Women in Computing Conference in Abu Dhabi. Hosted by New York University Abu Dhabi, the conference invited women in computing that are from the Arab region, including undergraduates and graduates students majoring in Computer Science, postdocs, researchers, entrepreneurs, from academia, industry and nonprofit.

The conference was 2 days filled with talks from Arab women in computing community members, a speed mentoring session (languages in English, Arabic and French) and also a Skype session from Gaza Sky Geeks. The intent of the conference is to highlight Arab women in computing and technology and their research, startups contributions, and how they are breaking the stereotypes about Arab women. Also as a community, they are defining ArabWiC 15 chapters in Arab countries. We look forward to hearing more from Arab Women in Computing.
