Like most nonprofits, we rely on volunteers to accomplish most of our goals. From speaking at workshops and GHC to leading a local community and selecting award recipients, our volunteers have a direct impact on our mission. We’re changing the direction of tech, together.
We have volunteer opportunities throughout the year, although primary recruitment is around the Grace Hopper Celebration in fall. We’ll update this page as opportunities open.
Grace Hopper Celebration Opportunities
We host thousands of women technologists each year at the world’s largest conference for women technologists. We require volunteers before and at the event. Our team starts recruiting committee volunteers in January. These individuals help us plan sessions, pick scholars, and review award applications. We also recruit volunteers for tasks at the celebration.
Our network of locals, depend on dedicated individuals who help plan events, recruit members, and monitor their individual groups’ pages on our Community website. These Locals help women connect to others in their area and provide a space where they can share resources for navigating their career in tech.
We also need help moderating the discussion boards – both within a Local and our global discussion. These volunteers assist in keeping our Community a safe place by watching for abuse.
