Note: You must have a current AnitaB.org Membership to serve on a committee. Please join
our AnitaB.org Membership Program before applying to serve on a committee.

We are presently accepting applications for six inaugural committees. View the full descriptions below, and check out the tentative committee schedule here.
Please note that these committees are not affiliated with Grace Hopper Celebration committees or the Systers committees.

View Committees

  • Mentorship – This committee is responsible for developing strategies and activities to spur increased adoption of and value for our AnitaB.org Mentoring platform, including mentor/mentee recruitment, engagement ideas, and thought leadership.
    Note: It is expected that each committee member be an active mentor or mentee on the AnitaB.org Mentoring platform during their committee tenure.
  • Technology – This committee will help provide strategies and ideas for developing and using technology to better reach our communities, and spur active involvement in various programs and advocacy efforts – with the overall goal of leveraging technology to more effectively realize our mission.
  • Midcareer Women – This committee will focus on developing and recommending content and resources available to midcareer women that will assist in their increased retention, equity, and advancement in technology.
    Note: You do not have to be a midcareer woman to serve on this committee.
  • Software Engineering – This committee will serve a dual purpose:
    • Develop and implement strategies that AnitaB.org can employ to improve equity, hiring, advancement, and retention for women in Software Engineering.
    • Provide a forum for discussing trends in the field and how we can apply them to our own careers and the careers of others; perhaps via thought leadership and/or related events.
  • Data Science – This committee will serve a dual purpose:
    • Develop and implement strategies that AnitaB.org can employ to improve equity, hiring, advancement, and retention for women in Data Science.
    • Provide a forum for discussing trends in the field and how we can apply them to our own careers and the careers of others; perhaps via thought leadership and/or related events.
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) – This committee will serve a dual purpose:
    • Develop and implement strategies that AnitaB.org can employ to improve equity, hiring, advancement, and retention – as well as to spur increased funding – for women in Artificial Intelligence.
    • Provide a forum for discussing trends in the field and how we can apply them to our own careers and the careers of others; perhaps via thought leadership and/or related events.

How to Apply

  1. Review our Eligibility & Expectations page as well as our Tentative Inaugural Committee Schedule of Events.
  2. Go to our Committee Interest Form.
  3. Select the committee(s) that interest you. Please select no more than three (3) from the list.
  4. Make sure to submit your application before August 15, 5 p.m. PT, as appointing authorities begin making appointment decisions immediately after the deadline.
