Tech executives are increasingly becoming aware that diverse teams are more successful and productive. Unfortunately, some executives are still uncertain how to increase diversity within their companies. A few tech-industry leaders spoke with Forbes to share their own tactics on promoting diversity, and explained how to both attract and retain diverse talent.
“Companies are constantly trying to remove bias from their organization through training, but training alone is not enough,” said Elizabeth Ames, senior vice president of programs, marketing, and alliances at AnitaB.org. “Companies trying not to perpetuate bias have to change their hiring systems… We constantly have to encourage companies to look more broadly and think about how to attract and retain candidates from non-traditional backgrounds.”
