Do you know an amazing woman in tech? Nominate her for an ABIE Award!
As minorities in the tech field, women’s accomplishments in technology and computing often go unacknowledged. To combat this, AnitaB.org hosts an annual banquet to celebrate and highlight notable female technologists with the Women of Vision ABIE Awards.
ABIE (pronounced ab-ee) Awards honor women who make significant contributions to technology, excel at solving problems creatively, are dedicated to progress and innovation or strive to make a positive impact in their field and in their society. Our winners are excellent role models and remind the world that women can make just as much of an impact in computing as men can.
We present three awards at the Women of Vision Banquet:
Winners of the Leadership and Entrepreneurship awards each receive a $5,000 cash prize. The Student of Vision winners receive a $1,000 cash prize, plus a scholarship to the 2016 Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC), the largest gathering of women technologists in the world.
We will also feature winners of the awards on our websites. Their bios will be posted on the Women of Vision website and an in-depth spotlight will be posted on the AnitaB.org’s website leading up to the banquet. These bios and spotlights will feature their photo, accomplishments and quotes from our interview with them. It’s a perfect way to highlight these women’s accomplishments, promote their causes and inspire others.
Over the years, many influential women have received ABIE awards, including:
Julie Larson-Green, 2015 Winner for the ABIE Award for Leadership

Nominations for the Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Student of Vision awards close Dec. 14, 2015. The winners will receive their award at the Women of Vision ABIE Awards Banquet, May 5, 2016, at the Santa Clara Convention Center.
Although a person can nominate herself, it is customary for someone else —a manager, colleague or mentor— to submit nominations for the Leadership and Entrepreneurship awards. This way, the selection committees can see how others view the candidate and have a detailed report of how that nominee’s innovative skills have influenced the tech industry.
We look forward to receiving your nominations for the 2016 Women of Vision ABIE Awards and sharing the stories of this year’s exceptionally accomplished and inspirational women.
