Harvey Mudd’s Initiatives to Diversify STEM

An increasing number of colleges and universities are coming up with innovative ways to diversify STEM. Maria Klawe, President of Harvey Mudd College, recently wrote to the Chronicle of Higher Education to discuss the many ways Harvey Mudd is increasing the number of female computer science majors. From redesigning their introductory CS courses to launching the Building Recruiting And Inclusion for Diversity (BRAID) initiative with, Harvey Mudd’s efforts continue to bring positive change to the field of computer science.
