India’s 2017 Budget Needs to Empower Women is pleased to see that India’s 2017 Union Budget will be focusing on “energizing youth through education, skills, and jobs,” as Finance Minister Arun Jaitley said. Geetha Kannan, managing director of India, hopes to see more skill development programs for women in the near future. “If the Government has to fulfill its promise of creating 100 million jobs by 2022, it will have to aggressively push for empowerment of women at all levels,” she stated.
