Recognizing Innovations by Women of Color

Many black female mathematicians helped NASA launch its space program, yet for years, these women went unrecognized for their contributions. The film Hidden Figures brings some of these stories to light, specifically the stories of Katherine Johnson, Dorothy Vaughan, and Mary Jackson. “Hidden Figures uncovers what is already in front of us,” said Rosario Robinson, a director at “What we’ve learned in history time and time again is that women, and women of color, have always been there during some of the greatest movements and innovations in the world.”
