Although some believe gender inequality is no longer a major problem in the corporate sector, a global survey by Grant Thornton shows otherwise. For the third year in a row, India ranked the third lowest globally in terms of women in leadership, with women holding only 17% of senior roles. The survey also showed that 41% of Indian businesses had no women leaders whatsoever.
“If the glass ceiling no longer exists, and we do have gender equality, why do the numbers say otherwise?” asked Geetha Kannan, Managing Director of AnitaB.org India.
