Uber CEO Aims to Fix Culture, but Still has Work Ahead

Last year, ended our partner relationship with Uber Technologies, Inc. after learning about the serious accusations women employees made against Uber. In the year since joining the troubled rideshare service, Uber’s new CEO Dara Khosrowshahi has been working to turn the company’s image around and fix the work culture. Toward that end, Dara has hired Uber’s first diversity and inclusion officer, and led an effort that achieved pay equity.

Despite this progress, we know Uber’s culture is far from fixed, and we hope that Dara and other leaders at Uber will continue to make this issue a priority. “We’ve been very critical of Uber and we maintain that position,” Brenda Darden Wilkerson, president and CEO of, told CNNMoney.

“If there’s one area that I would have liked to change faster,” Dara admitted, “it is to execute more fully on our cultural transformation as a company internally, across all levels at the company… We’ve got a ton of work ahead of us.”
