Spring 2014 Systers Pass It On Award Winner

Alice founded Havila Mines Cooperative, which aims to improve the standard of living of rural women through mining. She is a medical student at University of Rwanda and currently serves as general treasurer of the Medical Students’ Association of Rwanda. In 2011, she won an award as a top performing girl in national higher education.

Alice is also involved in different organizations for community development and gender balance. She is an adviser at Girls Leaders Forum (GLF), a forum to fight gender-based corruption, prevent unwanted pregnancy and advocate for female students at the University of Rwanda. Alice is working as vice director of the gender promotion program at Rwanda Village Concept Project (RVCP).  She is interested in community development through innovation and likes to find solutions to community problems using available resources.
