Girls’ empowerment in Information Technology Skills and Leadership
Florence sought funding to support her project that seeks to give computer skills and knowledge on how to use internet to high school girls aged 13 to 19 years old of Bukesa Parish, Rubaga Division who have never had any computer training in their education curriculum. The lessons would be conducted over the weekend for four hours each day at Multitech Business School conference room where the girls would be trained for introduction to computer and application software, HTML, graphic design and career guidance.
This would enable girls to improve their social and economic well being by starting up their employment opportunities, having access to Government services, conduct business online, exchange information and ideas, learn about valuable health information and also pursue further education. Above all, empowering girls to take control over decisions that shape their lives, often discuss their problems creating a sense of unity among them and bringing forth leadership quality hence producing programmes based on their developmental needs and priorities. Florence will use award to offset cost for her program.
