Deana Brown is a 4th yr Human-Centered Computing PhD Student at Georgia Tech. Her research spans Human-Computer Interaction, Social Computing and Technologies and Emerging Markets. She designs, prototypes and studies the impact technologies have on people’s lives. Born in Jamaica, she has studied and lived in four countries including Spain, South Africa and now the United States. Deana was a Google+ User Experience Research Intern this summer and has previously interned at Intel, Chevron and Lockheed Martin. Her current project Rivrjam, connects parents (separated from their children due to international migration) with their children’s teachers and caregivers in the Caribbean.
