On July 1, 2022, Florida’s HB1557, often referred to as the “Don’t Say Gay or Trans” bill, will become effective statewide.

At AnitaB.org, we vehemently oppose this anti-gay bill, which was signed into law by Governor Ron DeSantis on March 28, 2022.

This Elevating Conversations event discussed the ramifications of such dangerous legislation and explore how individuals and organizations can collaborate, and advocate to overturn it.

Nadine Smith, Co-Founder and CEO of Equality Florida, the state’s largest civil rights organization dedicated to securing full equality for Florida’s LGBTQIA+ community, was joined by Amanda Hill-Atkinson, Head of Programs at AnitaB.org and Former Deputy Director of Georgia Equality for a fireside chat.
