Congratulations to our 2019 AnitaB.org PitcHER™ winners!

The annual AnitaB.org PitcHER competition was designed to support entrepreneurs from all industries who are leading early stage technology startups. According to Fortune, women-led businesses are the fastest growing segment of entrepreneurship, yet they receive the smallest percentage (2.2%) of venture capital funding. We created PitcHER not only to shine light on this issue but to support, encourage, and provide new funding opportunities to female entrepreneurs.

This year, we had 11 finalists join us in Orlando, Florida for the 2019 Grace Hopper Celebration (GHC 19), the world’s largest gathering of women technologists. On October 2, these entrepreneurs competed onstage for a total of $100,000 in prize money – to be split among the top three finalists and an Audience Favorite. This year’s winners were:

First Place — Dr. Sanna GaspardRubitection Inc.
Rubitection Inc is a medical device start-up focused on modernizing patient care and bringing awareness to the condition of pressure ulcers.

Second Place — Kristen FangSrattyX
StrattyX is a trading interface that lets you set up sophisticated rules and execute orders on the stock market.

Audience Favorite — Lin ZhuLoro, Co.

The four winners took the main stage during the GHC 19 Closing Keynote for a panel moderated by Arlan Hamilton. They discussed the inspiration behind their startups and the challenges they overcame to make their ideas a reality. Brenda Darden Wilkerson, President and CEO of AnitaB.org, also made a surprise announcement during the Closing Keynote, stating that the remaining PitcHER finalists would receive $5,000 to support their startups as well.
