Many factors keep young women from joining the tech field, from stubborn stereotypes to the lack of exposure to computer science at a young age. And when women do join the tech industry, they leave at twice the rate of men. The reason? Poor workplace culture, says Susan Davis-Ali, senior director of organizational transformation programs at ABI. Tech culture, Susan explains, “was created by men, and it hasn’t become a culture that is super inclusive of women or underrepresented minorities.” But women technologists are increasingly joining forces to support each other and unlock new opportunities in the technology industry.
