On May 15, ABI.Silicon Valley hosted a “Mother’s Tech Day” event at Netflix headquarters, exploring what it means to be both a mom and a woman in tech. Tina Lee, Founder and CEO of MotherCoders, discussed her organization’s goal of providing mothers with the computing skills they need to begin or further their careers, while Netflix’s VP of Science and Algorithms Caitlin Smallwood shared her own personal experience of being a mother of twins.
“As a mother of two young children myself, I was very excited that both ABI.Silicon Valley and Netflix sponsored a special event recognizing mothers in tech,” said Lilit Yenokyan, a senior software engineer at Netflix. “[W]e had opportunities to make new connections and have insightful conversations about our own paths as parents and technologists.”
